How to download Pinterest images
To save a Pinterest image with PurePin, copy the public pin’s link, paste it into the Pinterest image downloader, select Find image, and then Download. PurePin checks for the original upload and clearly labels a preview when an original cannot be retrieved. You do not need a PurePin account.
Download on iPhone or Android
- Open a public image pin in the Pinterest app or your browser.
- Open its share menu and select Copy link. In a browser, you can also copy the pin URL from the address bar.
- Open PurePin in your mobile browser, paste the link, and select Find image.
- Check the Original upload or Lower-quality preview label, then select Download.
- Open your browser’s Downloads list to find the saved file.
On iPhone, check the Files app and its Downloads folder if the file is not in Photos. On Android, check the Files or Downloads app. The exact location depends on your browser and download settings; downloading a file does not always add it to your photo gallery automatically.
Download on Windows, Mac, or Linux
- Open the public pin in your browser and copy its URL.
- Paste it into PurePin and select Find image.
- Review the format and quality label, then select Download.
- Use your browser’s Downloads list or the folder you selected to find the image.
If the pin page cannot be read, try opening the image itself and copying its image address. A direct HTTPS i.pinimg.com address ending in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or WebP is supported. Copying the address of a board or a search results page will not identify a single image.
What “original quality” means
Original upload means PurePin verified an image in Pinterest’s originals folder. It does not mean the picture has a particular resolution: the person who uploaded it may have used a small or compressed file. When an original cannot be retrieved, an available result is marked Lower-quality preview. PurePin never manufactures a missing original.
Downloads keep the retrieved image bytes and format. PurePin does not convert JPG to PNG, sharpen a blurry source, upscale to 4K, or add a watermark. Existing marks in the source image remain part of that image.
Fix common download problems
The link is not supported
Use a public single-image pin URL, a supported regional Pinterest URL, a pin.it short link, or a direct Pinterest image address. Private pins, boards, videos, and multiple images in one download are not supported.
No image could be found
Check that the source still opens publicly. Deleted pins, access restrictions, or pages without a usable image address may fail. Try copying the direct image address in your browser. Repeating a request cannot restore content that is missing from the source.
The download fails or the file is too large
Check your internet connection and browser download permissions, then retry. Downloads have a 32 MB size limit and a 15-second server deadline. Pinterest may also temporarily block requests. If an issue persists, contact the creator with the public pin URL and the error message.
Get permission before reusing an image
A public pin is not a license. Download only images you have the right to use, and check the creator’s permissions before publishing or reusing them. PurePin is independent of Pinterest. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more information.
